"Hearing loss is always a socially isolating experience. While in school, I had trouble hearing the teacher, particularly hearing homework assignments. When with friends, I often missed the punch line to jokes. With aids, I am better able to participate in conversations, particularly in groups. We get glasses to see better when things are blurry…hearing aids make hearing clearer when sounds aren’t clear. Hearing aids greatly improve my quality of life."
